On being "Just a fan"

Clay Aiken was on Larry King Live recently. He's finally drawn the line on what part of his life is public and what part belongs to only him. Good for him. Clay may have been a bit too trusting over the past 3 years, and I'm sorry that that's cost him some peace of mind. Sadly, some of the most intrusive people in his life have been some of his own fans. Up until a few months ago I was guilty of doing just that. It was exciting to know someone, who knew someone, who knew someone, who knew Clay. Wow, I was so cool. Then one day I realized that if this stuff was filtering down to me, someone close to Clay was betraying him. That's when I pulled back and started all over again enjoying Clay for what he was meant to be to ME, just a fan - a man with a gorgeous voice, an amazing ability to entertain and a true humanitarian. All wrapped up in a totally hot exterior. :)Does not knowing what he has for breakfast or who his gardener is make me less of a fan? I hope not, because I love Clay Aiken with all my heart. I also respect him.

Keep on singing Clay. I'll always be there listening.
